ADD Key Control to 24vac Electrical Interlock Trash Chute or Linen Chute Intake Door, "W" Series

Add keyed switch control of the Western Chutes “W” series trash chute or linen chute intake doors having 24vac Electrical Interlocks. This is an available add-on for complete chute intake doors only. Includes two keys per door. Leaves standard handle and latch in door. Interlocks allow only one door open at a time to reduce clogging and enhance safety during peak usage periods. User must unlock the door by inserting the key into the lock; then operating the latch or handle separately. Interlocks are designed to be normally locked so that in a power failure doors can not be opened. This also allows all doors to be locked out by turning off the power switch when working beneath the chute, greatly reducing liability and injuries.

Adding lock only locks (can’t be left un-locked) to the trash chute or linen chute intake doors meets the NFPA 82 requirements allowing for the installation of larger intake doors on a chute. This addition also provides security to the trash chute or linen chute. For example, keeping children from opening the doors. Locks may be re-keyed to the building or master keyed cylinders can be provided for our installation into the doors.

Our 24vac Electrical Interlocks are engineered for use on a class two circuit. Therefore, the intake door electrical panels and components are not required to be UL listed. Wiring is with exposed (no conduit required) cable inside the shaft in most applications. Check with your local building authority regarding installation requirements.
